There was a very active response to the Club Member Wellbeing Survey from the District membership! Approximately 30% of members participated in the survey, which can be considered a very good participation rate. Of course, we would have liked all members to respond, but this result gives a good picture of the situation. Perhaps best of all, 94% of members feel that they can use their skills in the club and that the club’s activities are impactful and relevant. Most importantly, 97% also feel that their membership of the club is valued. I think these are very good results and certainly something to be proud of for all Lions in the District!
On the other hand, only about half feel that the Invite to Lion campaign supports their club’s membership drive. This shows a clear need for improvement in the implementation of the campaign, we will be discussing how to better focus the campaign.
It is disappointing, of course, that only about one in five district Lions are interested in running for district and federation positions. On the other hand, this means that almost 50 lions in our district are at least somewhat interested! New applicants are very welcome to join the District.

Now is a great time to apply for next season’s District Officer positions!
There are many District positions opening up for next season and it would be great to see new applicants! For more information about the positions, please contact District Council members, the District Governor’s team, and other District Officers.
🇺🇦 🇺🇦 🇺🇦 Winter is Coming to Ukraine! 🇺🇦 🇺🇦 🇺🇦
Ukraine continues to be a key destination for international collections. The ambulance collection continues towards its goal of ten ambulances and the international collection of stoves, jointly collected with LCIF, is also well underway. In Finland the collection has already raised around 140 000 euros, and internationally around 900 000 euros. The price of a chimney is 150 euros each, let’s try to send a large amount to support the Ukrainians! In the last few years we have already sent 2.7 million of these to Ukraine, let’s try to add another significant amount of support to this great result!
Peace Poster competition (digi)
The materials for the Peace Poster competition have been published, and are traditionally available in the Lions online shop. This year, as a new feature, the materials are also available on the organisation’s website in digital format, so that they can be downloaded immediately upon purchase without any postage costs.
District events
- Help a Child, Help a Family – collections have been held across the district. Due to the popularity of the collections, the district is in the process of making more ALAP collection bags available in the Lionamo to make it easier to organise the collections.
- The Wonderful Women Lion Cruise is coming up in May. All Finnish women lions are invited to join the cruise to meet Estonian women lions. The link to the event is here.
- In the spring, there will be workshops for those involved in club communication and marketing, where we will work together on club marketing. The workshops will take place on the second Wednesday of every month. Sign up on the Jellona-info events calendar.
Invite a Lion campaign
On Tuesday 11.2.2025, the newest club in District B will be launched. Around 10 new members from the university are about to join the club, which will initially be established as an affiliated club of LC Tapiola.
31 new members have been invited to the district clubs since the beginning of this season. In addition to these, I have heard from several potential new members from around the district, really great recruitment! We have also had 30 members leave the District during the season, so we have kept the District membership steady. I hope everyone will implement the invitation campaign so that we can continue to maintain and, ideally, grow our membership.
Coaching events
Coaching sessions continue to be actively organised by the District and the Federation! These often provide a very good level of guidance for the tasks ahead in the various clubs. You should check out the upcoming coaching sessions and events at District B Events. I would particularly encourage all (approx. 20%) of the members who are interested in developing as a Lion also in the context of district activities to check out the Regional Lion Leaders Training (RLLI) in Helsinki on 22 March 2025.
Please check at the next club night to see who from your club will be attending the coaching sessions and if there are any skills your club is missing.
Check the district coaching calendar for upcoming coaching sessions
